UK billionaire Fred Done, who became rich as a bookmaker, invests in an eSports News Network.
The development of eSports continues to progress and brings more and more investors and companies from other industries to invest in teams, organizations or similar.
Only one direction
Together with his brother Peter Done, Fred Done founded the bookmaker chain Betfred and became a billionaire.
Fred Done himself sees enormous potential in the world of eSports. “ESports only goes in one direction, and that is upwards. I am excited to work with GGIntel. I’m looking forward to working with this small but passionate team to build a unique business in a growing sector”.
GGIntel produces a mix of industry news and tournament information.
“I am glad to have launched GGIntel in one of the fastest-growing and most interesting industries in the world. GGIntel’s goal is to become the global leader in in-depth eSports coverage and education through engaging content produced by experts in the industry,” said Chris Young, MD of GGIntel. “We’ve had a great start, and we’re just getting started.”
The rapid growth of the eSports sector was evident at the recent League of Legends World Cup. Attendance worldwide reached a new record high. Also, more and more franchise leagues are springing up whose teams are backed by major sports organizations.
