The most expensive poker tournament ever will take place in London at the beginning of August 2019. Already 13 players have registered for the €1,180,000 buy-in tournament.
For the first time, the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series will be held in London from July 31st to August 08th 2019. To be more precise, at the Grand Ballroom of the London Park Lane Hilton Hotel. Besides the usual Triton Super High Roller Action, there will be the Triton Million Charity Event from August 01st to August 03rd. With a buy-in of GBP1,000,000 + GBP 50,000 (donation), it will be approximately €1,180,000 and will be the world’s most expensive poker tournament to date.
For a long time, there was speculation about this tournament, now Triton Poker published all the details. In addition to the GBP 1,000,000 buy-in, a tournament fee of one GBP 50,000 must be donated to a good cause.
But there are a few more special rules. At the beginning of the THNL tournament, business people and poker pros will be separated. Only as the tournament progresses will all players play together. The tournament is also not open to everyone. The invited players can propose another Highroller to the committee. In addition, no sunglasses, hats, scarves or similar things are allowed in the tournaments with which one can disguise oneself. Anything up the shoulder must not be hidden. Sunglasses are only allowed at the final table, and every finalist must play in a suit. This is to add a little glamour to the tournament.
So far, 11 businessmen and two poker pros have made the GBP 50,000 donation to register for the tournament.
Otherwise, as usual, there will be many high-priced THNL and Short Deck events during the ten-day festival.
