Day 5 of the HIGH ROLLERS tournament series on PokerStars once again saw high-class poker at the highest (buy-in) level, overlays and strong results from the DACH players.
In the 3 decisions on Thursday, there were 4 Final Table placings for German-speaking players, above all the victory of Jens “Fresh_oO_D” Lakemeier in the 8-Game.
$5.200 NLHE Event #11: 3 times bubble for Austria
On the second and final matchday of the $5,200 NLHE 6-Max, the 11 cashers of the 102 participants took part to play out the $510,000 Pricepool. Clas “Ssick_OnE” Segebrecht had a good starting position as third in the chipcount, Jan’s “Graftekkel” Arends was on rank 10. In the end, however, none of the Austrians in the illustrious field should be enough for the final table. Shortly before the big pay jumps from 8th place the Dutch Austrian “Graftekkel” “bubbled” as 9th for $19,163.
On the final table bubble “Ssick_OnE” was also caught, for which there was a payout of $24,960. With the real bubble placement of Gianluca “Tankanza” Speranza on place 12 the day before all 3 bubbles went to players from Austria. The victory went to Bert “girafganger7” Stevens, who had $121,873 in his PokerStars account.
$1.050 8-Game Event #15: Jens “Fresh_oO_D” Lakemeier not to be stopped
In the challenging $1,050 8-Game Event #15, the 94 participants were able to enjoy a tight overlay in the tournament with a $100,000 guarantee. But “Keep3r” from Austria could not be happy as Bubbleboy on rank 13. Somewhat better was “dolmren” from Germany on rank 9 ($3.150). At the final table, Ole “wizowizo” Schemion and Jens “Fresh_oO_D” were two German-speaking irons in the fire. Schemion landed for $5.250 on rank 6, while Lakemeier could not be stopped through all poker variations and earned $27.250 for the mixed game victory.
$530 NLHE 8-Max Event #16: “pantau77” and “Sintoras” at Final Table
There was no overlay, but a well-attended field with 362 participants in the $530 No-Limit Hold’em 8-Max. $181.000 lay in Event #16 in the Pricepool and 2 German players should put their hands deep into it. With the streamer, Murat “pantau77” Tülek one of them landed on 6th place for $8,022, his compatriot “Sintoras” followed him on 5th place for $10,650.
The Austrian flag held Christian “WATnlos” Rudolph up until the final table bubble (9th, $3,580). The victory went to Lucas “YRWTHMELTHR” Greenwood. The Canadian Run It Once member received $33,087 for success.
$10,300 NLHE Progressive KO Event #14: Graftekkel on day 2 in the $1M GTD Event
A larger overlay of $140,000 is available in one of the two-day main events. For the HIGH ROLLERS Tournament #14, 86 entries registered, who could afford the entry fee of $10,300 — too little to reach the $1 Million Guarantee. The 13 players who will start today at 7 pm on day 2 will be entitled to do so. Among them is once again the Dutchman Jan’s “Graftekkel” Arends, who lives in Austria and who is on the assembly line in the tournament series Cashes, which is tailor-made for him. As third in the chip count, he can look at a chip stack of 2,418,095 virtual chips in blinds of 17.5k/35k-4.5k.
Arends has already secured $13,750 in progressive KnockOut bounties and the Mincash of $14,386. But both should become if possible still clearly more, both the rising bounties and the price money. After all, $136,211 is waiting for the winner. The Rui “RuiNF” Ferreira and Jonathan “Proudflop” Proudfoot, who lie ahead of Arends in the chip count, also have a good chance. The Dutchman Ferreira has 3,950,849 chips, the Briton Proudfoot 4,704,016.
