With old and new faces, Cloud9 returns to Dota 2. After more than two years, the organization wants to attack again.
The Dota 2 scene is changing. Out of the big Team Liquid grew Team Nigma around the German Captain Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi, OG is eagerly upgrading and Team Secret has won another Major and once again stopped the Evil Geniuses from attacking.
Back on cloud 9
The North American organization Cloud9 has now announced that it is back in the professional Dota eSports. This is not a complete restart.
Johan “Pieliedie” Aström and Rasmus “Misery” Filipsen are returning to Cloud9. “Misery” was already active for the blue cloud in 2015 and at that time he took 5th-6th place at the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2015. His earning so far is estimated at 1.46 million US dollars.
“Pieliedie” has already been part of the roster twice. From February 2014 to May 2015 and with a short stay from July to August 2017. His biggest success with the team was the 5th-6th place at The International 2014. He has earned almost one million US dollars in his career so far.
New challengers
Two players do not make a team. So Cloud9 expands the classic duo with three more promising professionals. Rolen Andrei Gabriel “Skem” Ong is one of the biggest talents already active and has recently won several minor series with Neon Esports. At the DreamLeague Season 10 Final, it was the 5th – 6th place under the flag of Complexity Gaming.
Jiao Hao “Vtfaded” Cheng is a Malaysian Solo Middle Carry and comes on loan from EHOME. At last “The International” he finished 17th-18th with the Chaos Esports Club.
The last in the bunch is Francis “FrancisLee” Lee, who finished second in DreamLeague Season 12 for the DemonSlayers. From there the support player will switch to Cloud9.
