CS:GO tension pure was the motto last weekend in the 18th district of Vienna. Because the final of the alpenScene Pro Series was held in the A1 eSports Hub S64 in Schöffelgasse 64. The four best teams of the league met there to take home the coveted title.
An exciting first playoff day
Already since April, a total of 9 teams fought for the entry into the offline playoffs of the third alpenScene Premiership season. The best 4 teams made it: Esports Rhein Neckar, WarKidZ eSports, Plan-B Esports and Aviato-. On 29 and 30 June, the time had finally come. The teams arrived at the A1 eSports Hub in Vienna and got going. After an incredible 17 hours, the first match day ended, and the first finalist was determined: Esports Rhein Neckar. The second finalist should be determined on Sunday in the game WarKidZ eSports against Plan-B Esports. Aviato- had to play nerve-racking games against WarKidZ eSports several times in overtime and finally had to cancel the sails.
The first match day demanded everything not only from the players but also from the team behind the scenes. But they managed to stream and cast constantly, an achievement that is to be emphasized with the heat of scarcely 38 degrees quite.
A brilliant final day
On Sunday it continued spectacularly. The WarKidZ won in a tight Bo3 against Plan-B eSports and fought their way to the final, where ERN was already eagerly awaiting their opponent. Sometimes more than 1.000 viewers watched the games at the same time and enjoyed exciting fights on probably the hottest day of the year.
In the final, ERN first won on Inferno (16:10), before they could then clearly close the bag on Mirage (16:4) and win.
All in all, it was a successful event, where you could clearly see and feel the hard work of the alpenScene team. There was also a public viewing in the Respawn Esports Bar, where the community could watch all the games live with refreshing drinks and burgers.
“The past two days at the A1 eSports Hub in Vienna showed one thing above all: To hold a successful Esport Event, you need above all know-how and passion. It was also proven that CS:GO is the biggest Esport title in Austria. This was duly celebrated over the past two days. At a certain time, almost 1,400 people saw the fight for number 1. Four teams competed for victory, in the end, Esport Rhein-Neckar smiled deservedly from the podium. We are already planning the fourth edition of the Premiership intensively, and we hope that we can increase ourselves again and make another step forward! Last but not least, I would like to personally thank A1, without their support this would not have been possible.”
The relegation
But the season is not over yet. Now it’s time for a total of 11 teams to advance to the highest league of the alpenScene Premiership. There, 2 coveted places in the APS await worthy teams.
