Although eSports is still relatively young, prize money is distributed that is otherwise difficult to find. This weekend there was even a record!
The biggest eSports tournament in the world: the Dota 2 World Championship “The International”. Dota 2 has almost no importance in this country anymore, but once a year, when the big tournament takes place, it fascinates all eSports enthusiasts. One of the reasons for this is the record-breaking prize money, which can be won.
This year there were over 34 million francs to be won! The programme tells you who took home the biggest piece of cake and which players became multimillionaires overnight.
Manabar – finally open!
In Basel, the Nerd community has been waiting for years for its own bar, which is dedicated to its hobby. Now it’s finally time. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, several delays and uncertainties, the bar finally opens its gates and taps on August 31st.
A first event is already planned. More information about the Manabar can be found in the Swiss eSports Weekly.
eSports at the Zurich Game Show
Soon, soon, soon. Only shortly after Gamescom, there will be a fair in Germany dedicated to gaming. Sure, the ZGS isn’t as big as its role model in Cologne yet, but maybe it will be. Until then we will enjoy what we have and look forward to the things to come.
At the ZGS there are also a lot of eSports to see and above all to take part in! In which games you can assert yourself, how you can get there and everything else, there’s in the show.
