After the first leaks had appeared and rumours for an immediate start of the beta were circulating, developer Blizzard officially confirmed that the beta will be available from November 1st. For the time being, the beta will be limited to multiplayer mode only.
Beta starts with numerous limitations
The biggest limitation of the beta concerns the available races of the strategy classic. At first, only orcs and humans will be playable. The undead and the night elves will follow “in the coming weeks” according to the announcement. The number of players in a game is also limited. At the beginning of the beta, only games in 1vs1 or 2vs2 mode will be possible.
The first invitations to the beta will go to the pre-orderers. Especially the customers of the “Spoil of Wars” special edition should keep an eye on their e-mails. The beta is scheduled to start on Friday, November 1st, but initially only in selected regions. Unfortunately, there were no details about the exact procedure of the invitation waves, so fans will have to wait and see.
More information will follow at BlizzCon?
With BlizzCon on the horizon, we can certainly look forward to more details on Warcraft III: Reforged. Maybe even a precise schedule for the beta to run until the release we’re aiming for at the end of 2019, especially in light of the negative criticism Blizzard has received over the past few months and the fireworks of announcements from Riot, the developer, will want the re-release to get off to a smooth start.
