After the Worlds 2019, the transfer carousel is spinning rapidly. Some teams use the off-season to restructure and refine their rosters.
Last week, the SK Telecom T1 team already underwent decisive changes. The team members Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun, Kim “Clid” Tae-min and Kim “Khan” Dong-ha, leave the team and become free agents. Despite T1’s efforts to keep the trio, Kim “Clid” Tae-Min has already been finally retired.
T1 was now able to sign a contract with two players. Lee “Effort” Sang-ho signed a contract extension for the next two years. T1 dismissed his former teammate Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong. This seems understandable, as Effort and Mata played in the same position, and Effort was allowed to play most of the time.
SKT could also welcome a newcomer. Mun “Cuzz” U-chan was hired as a jungler after the departure of Kim “Clid” Tae-min. Cuzz started his professional career in 2017 and won the LCK in summer 2017.
Only recently it was reported that FC Schalke 04 will not renew the contract with Elias “Upset” Lipp. Now it was announced on Instagram that “Trick” and Schalke will go their separate ways from now on.
Rumour mill
According to reports, Immortals will hire the players Paul “sOAZ” Boyer, Johnny “Altec” Ru and Nickolas “Hakuho” Surgent. Team Liquid is also undergoing some restructuring. Jungler Jake Kevin “Xmithie” Puchero is supposed to return to the Immortals after two successful years.
There have already been rumours that Zach “Sneaky” Scuderi will be replaced by the former player of TSM Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen, who will probably be hired by Cloud9.
Sneaky, who has been under contract with Cloud9 since 2013 and has achieved many successes, is now supposed to switch to 100 Thieves. This would reunite a duo, as William “Meteos” Hartman has already been announced as a 100T-youngster.
It is also said that Excel Esports Tore will sign “Tore” Hoel Eilertsen, formerly known as “Norskeren”.
