The former world footballer Ronaldinho has been involved in eSports for several years now. His positive experiences have led him to believe that the market has a glamorous future.
If you ask yourself about the most football-crazy country in the world, many would probably answer with Brazil. And now the former world-class player Ronaldinho is coming and is convinced that even in his home country eSports will catch up with king football in the future.
This statement comes as a surprise, even though Ronaldinho has become very involved in eSports himself. There are already “FIFA” and “Pro Evolution Soccer” teams with the name “R10”. Also, Ronaldinho has founded its league in which the best players in the country can duel.
Unlimited growth opportunities?
At a recent press conference, the dribbling artist leaked the importance that eSports now has for him. When asked what he now does in his spare time, he replied: “Many things! I meet my friends, play football, spend time with my family, compete in legend games against some great footballers and enjoy barbecues, what I love! eSports has also allowed me to discover a whole new world, so even more good things to enjoy”.
But Ronaldinho sees much more in eSports than just another nice pastime. Legend has it that eSports will soon become more important in society. Ronaldinho points out that eSports tournaments can become just as popular as football tournaments. “I will give you a daring answer: Yes! I know that football is huge and we all love it and want it to continue to be the best sport, but I also believe that the eSports market is very solid. The growth opportunities are unlimited. I am very proud to be able to contribute to the development of this great discipline”.
