The Call of Duty World League was about one title and 800,000 US dollars prize money. In an exciting final, an American team prevailed.
eUnited won the Call of Duty World League Championship 2019. In a thrilling final, the team of five Americans won 3:2 against 100 Thieves.
In addition to the title, the team will receive prize money of 800,000 US dollars.
After 100 Thieves unexpectedly lost 0:3 against Luminosity Gaming in the first round of the knockout phase, the team fought their way back to the World Championship final against eUnited through the lower bracket. They already won the CWL Pro League playoffs at the end of July and entered the competition as top favourites.
100 Thieves and eUnited met at eye level in the grand finale of the CWL Championship. After a constant back and forth, eUnited could win the series with 3:2, which was enough for the team as the winner of the Upper-Bracket to win the title.
Also, eighteen-year-old Chris “Simp” Lehr, who has competed for eUnited’s junior team since the age of sixteen, secured the MVP title of the championship due to his consistently strong performance.
Already at his age and after only six months on the big stage, the young American is considered the best player in the world.
