Regional Athletics Arena

The Regional Athletics Arena was developed from the original 2002 Commonwealth Games warm up track. And boasts an eight lane 400m track with covered seating for 6,500 spectators. The arena is flexible enough to host all track and field events and is the venue for the BT Paralympic World Cup and a number of regional athletics events. The arena regularly accommodates school and community events and is open for use by the public. A number of local athletics clubs also operate from the venue including Sale Harriers, Belle Vue Racers and Manchester Kestrels. The indoor athletics hall has a 200m banked running track and a six lane 60m sprint track. Specially designed nets cater for throw events and there are also facilities for pole vault, high jump and long jump. The central area of the hall is marked for badminton, basketball and netball and is widely used by the community during school holidays.
