The Golden State Warriors are regaining ground on the big positions. As several media report, the Dubs will probably strengthen with Marquese Chriss. The training camp should now recommend the former Lottery-Pick.
Chris Haynes (Yahoo Sports) and Anthony Slater (The Athletic) report that. Whether Chriss can actually win a place for the season, however, is not yet clear. The Warriors still have a 15th squad place available, but don’t have any Cap Space and could only offer Chriss the minimum.
Nevertheless, there is the possibility that Chriss will be held if he can convince in the preparation. For example, Alfonzo McKinnie’s contract is not yet guaranteed, and the same applies to Andrew Harrison.
Marquese Chriss disappointing so far
There should be little doubt about Chriss’s potential, but the 22-year-old has been disappointing in the NBA so far. The Big Man was never able to assert himself in the Phoenix Suns, and expectations were never fulfilled in the Houston Rockets or the Cleveland Cavaliers last season.
Last season Chriss played just 43 games in which he had an average of 11.6 minutes and scored only 4.2 points.
