The World Series of Poker 2019 kicks off on May 29th with the Gavin Smith Memorial Tournament kicking off right at the start.
WSOP 2019 is the 50th edition of the unofficial Poker World Championship. Accordingly, there is a gigantic selection of bracelet tournaments and side events.
Despite the celebrations, it will not be forgotten that Gavin Smith will not be playing. The cheerful Canadian died earlier this year. To commemorate the popular Grinder and collect money for his two sons, a charity event is played.
If you arrive early for the WSOP and don’t play the $10K Super Turbo Bounty or the $500 Casino Employees, you can stop by the Pavilion Room. The Gavin Smith Memorial Poker Tournament has a buy-in of $200. There is no homeowner’s fee, but half of the prize money goes to Smith’s kids.
