Team Liquid pushes the Finn Lasse “Matumbaman” Urpalainen out of the starting line-up of his Dota 2 team. It had been a mutual decision and was in the best interest of all involved, the eSport organization announced via Twitter.
The decision comes as a surprise and only ten days before the next big tournament, the Epicenter Major in Moscow.
The team around the German captain Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi has not yet announced a substitute.
Matumbaman has been with Team Liquid since 2015. The highlight of his successful career was his victory at the World Championship “The International” in 2017.
In the following year, it was enough for fourth place. Best place this year was second place at the MDL Disneyland Paris Major. At the ESL One in Birmingham at the end of May, it was only enough for 7th place.
